Prison Improvements

In 2015, Reach the Unreached will be praying about, and
beginning to organize collection of resources to improve the conditions of the most inhumane incarceration centers in East Africa. One prison we recently visited help 127 men in a facility designed to hold approximately 30 men. In addition to the men having to sleep on a hard-concrete floor, the building had shuttered-over windows so that there was no ventilation for the inmates. Upon seeing this in a minimum security, it broke our hearts, and made us want to organize resources to provide bars for the windows so there would be adequate ventilation, and screens to keep out mosquitoes. After this, provision of bunk beds might be a next step.

Medical Infrastructure Development

This is a new and exciting development are for Reach the Unreached Ministry, starting in 2015!
Vision:
Our vision is to connect sources of surplus and donated medical equipment from developed countries with qualified recipient medical facilities that have needs.
On the supply side, we will arrange for the collection, certification, and shipping of donated equipment. In addition, we will recruit volunteer trainers who are willing to travel to the demand locations, and train their medical staff on the equipment once it arrives in-country.
On the demand side, we will work with governmental entities, non-profits, and key partners to identify locations that have qualified medical professionals of good reputation, and have specific equipment needs.
Here are some of the needs that we have identified: (this list will grow)
• Hospital beds
• IV stands
• Ultrasound Machines
• X-ray Machines
• Incubators
• Mosquito nets

Clean Water Projects

One exciting area that Reach the Unreached began to be involved with starting in 2011 is clean water projects. In partnership with other charitable organizations, Reach the Unreached Ministry has been able to coordinate several clean water projects.
In one project, several water tanks with filters were provided to a poor primary school. This greatly improved both the health and quality of life of the eager students.
This year, a water collection system was installed on the roof of a main building in a small village in Sheema District, Western Uganda.
Most recently, we have started our most ambitious project. We purchased a portable drilling rig from the US, have trained a Ugandan team, and have started drilling for communities in need.

Hosting Mission Teams

Reach the Unreached Ministry is now equipped to host teams of up to 16 people in both Kampala Uganda, and in the Sheema District in Western Uganda. More locations will be opening up over time as the Lord leads.
